Buckingham County

Buckingham County is rural central Virginia at its quietest, south of the James River. It is a place for land: farms, wooded acreage and homes with room to spread out, often at prices well below those closer to Charlottesville. The county is known for its slate, and James River State Park offers river access, trails and camping. If you want privacy, open space and a slower pace, Buckingham is worth a look.
